Say I Love You With Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and if you are looking for a special, homemade treat to make the day sweeter, look no further. This recipe for Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies is a tasty way to say I love you.

Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies

1 box red velvet cake mix

2 tablespoons flour

2 eggs

1/2 cup cooking oil

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Powdered sugar

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, stir together the flour and the cake mix until it is light and fluffy and all of the lumps are broken up. Next, add the eggs, oil, and vanilla, mixing with an electric mixer until it is completely combined. Scoop out 1 tablespoon of the dough and roll it into a ball. Roll the ball in the powdered sugar, and set it on the parchment-lined pan, flattening the dough slightly. Repeat with the rest of the dough, setting them about 2 inches apart on the pan. If you like, you can cut the dough rounds with a heart-shaped cookie cutter to make heart-shaped cookies.

Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes. The cookies will begin to look cracked on top, and will just be set. Allow cookies to rest on the pan for about 2 minutes after removing them from the oven. Then, gently scrape them from the pan with a spatula. Allow the cookies to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container.
